Also included are a list of tools and materials needed for working in stained glass plus helpful hints on the best ways to use them. This project was constructed using the copper foil technique.

The Fall and Rise of Owl by Robert Oddy Techniques for repairing a plated stained glass panel after breakage. Tips for matching glass types and colors as well as suggestions for prizing plated layers apart and determining which pieces must be totally replaced are also offered. All You Wanted to Know about Cutting Glass—Basic Techniques by Alan Toy The second of two parts of an expansive overview of glass cutting basics. The article shares tips for using your dominant eye when cutting, practicing shadow scores, using the correct scissors for cutting patterns, cutting curves and straight lines correctly, and scoring and snapping glass in the most efficient ways.

Sweet Talk—Message Hearts in Wasser Glass Design by Leslie Gibbs A 5" fused and slumped heart-shaped dish filled with smaller fused Valentine hearts. The small pieces are made from Wasser precut hearts. They are made to look like traditional candy Valentine hearts with handwritten messages that are added using a gold ceramic pen.

Leaves and Berries Kiln-Formed Bracelets Design by Jayne Persico Methods for using powdered frit to create designs for kiln-formed bracelets. Two different designs are offered for these bracelets, which are created in a mold and formed around a bracelet mandrel using graphite tongs. Tips are also shared for sizing and finishing techniques. Firing schedules are provided for the various steps that are required for construction.

Mosaic Snowflake Vase Design by Melanie Churchill Tips for decorating a purchased glass vase with nipped mirror and colored glass pieces. Instructions are given for using wheeled nippers to create mirror shards to make the snowflakes. Triangular and rectangular pieces of glass are glued on to fill in the background, and the project is then grouted and finished by applying grout sealant.

Dicro Slide™, which is easy to cut with scissors and punches, is used to create the designs, and a clear-glass cover is fused over the design and the black glass base.
